Empowering Voters. Defending Democracy.

Ruth RadowRuth Radow, a longtime Atlantic Beach resident and environmentalist, and a League member, who helped preserve the village’s beaches and its water supply, died on July 23. She was 88.  Ruth was truly an advocate in the very sense and meaning of the word.

As I look at her efforts  that date back to the days long ago that she and her husband, Seymour, moved to Atantic Beach, I see a woman who  worked to make the changes that would help her community be a better place, frequently, if not always, advocating with her own time and monies.

Ruth fought her hardest to protect the village she so deeply cared for, for her family and the residents,” Ariel, one of Ruth’s children, said. “Just days prior to her passing, she attended the induction of newly elected Mayor George Pappas and actively participated in the village meeting that followed.”  Ruth lived out the so many values of League, advocating as she educated and informed others.  She will be missed.
