Winter Farmers’ Markets on LI

Just because the cold weather has descended on Long Island doesn’t mean you have to give up going to farmers markets. Here are four that will be going strong throughout the winter. Two of them are rather far from us, but you can make a visit to them part of a day’s adventure.

Huntington Winter Farmers’ Market – Since 2010, the Huntington Winter Farmers’ Market has provided Long Island residents with a direct source of local produce and goods during the winter months. Visitors will find items ranging from hydroponic greens to artisan breads and vegan treats and everything in between. The market is open on Sundays 9am-1pm, December through March. Location: 423 Park Avenue, Huntington, (631) 944-2661.

Crossroads Farm Farmers’ Market – This farmers’ market has over 20 local concessionaires, with cheeses, bread, baked goods, seafood, coffee, craft brewers, spirits, dog treats, handmade soaps, pickles, condiments, spices, jams, fudge, local produce and much more. Crossroads’ Farm Stand will be selling their own NOFA certified organic produce in Malverne. Farmers’ Market hours are 9am-1pm every Saturday. Location: 480 Hempstead Avenue, Malverne, (516) 881-7900.

The Garden Farmers’ Market of Patchogue – The Garden Farmers’ Market is a year-round, full weekend, farmers’ market and craft fair featuring over 25 different vendors on a weekly basis; and is open every Saturday and Sunday 10am-2pm. The market is located in a heated greenhouse for the winter. More than just a Farmers’ Market, it features different food trucks, live music, and fun activities for the whole family. It is dog friendly as well, so you can bring your furry friends along. Location: 67 Avery Avenue, Patchogue.

The Port Jefferson Winter Farmers’ Market – This farmers’ market is open every Sunday from January 2, 2022 through April 25, 2022, 10am – 2pm in the Port Jefferson Village Center. Location: 101 E Broadway, Port Jefferson, (631) 473-4724.
