- Why: As New Yorkers, we pay among the highest taxes in the country, yet most of us know very little about the State budget, how it is determined, where the money goes, etc. Join us on April 17th and learn about the budget, the process and a lot more from these two new state legislators.
They will discuss what is in the budget that affects us and what their thoughts are regarding what will happen for the rest of the legislative session. They will tell us about their priorities, and their views on League issues.
Senator Thomas’ 6 th SD includes East Meadow, Levittown, Bethpage, North Wantagh, Garden City, Hempstead and Seaford. He is chair of the Consumer Protection Committee and a member of the Aging, Banks, Finance, Judiciary and the Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs Committees.
Assemblyman Mikulin’s 17th AD includes East Meadow, Levittown, Plainedge and part of Massapequa. He is a member of the Banks, Consumer Affairs and Protection, Education, Election Law and Mental Health Committees.
