Please put the Candidate Forums on your calendars and try to attend all that you can. It’s important for citizens to see and hear their candidates, to make an educated decision about whom to vote for. Please let your friends, relatives and neighbors know about these meetings, and offer to drive them to the events.
The candidates listed were all asked to attend the forums. In some cases, their offices were called numerous times to get a commitment. So far, many have agreed to attend, but not all. Because of League’s non-partisan position and the possible appearance of partisanship, we are not able to conduct a forum with only one candidate for a particular office present. When this occurs, it is very unfortunate because it prevents the citizens in the audience from hearing from either candidate.
