New Poll Finds Overwhelming Support for Citizen-Led Redistricting in Nassau County:
Long Island Civic Engagement Table, Good Government and Civil Rights Allies Release Poll Showing Clear Support for Reform to Nassau’s Contentious Redistricting Process
After years of lawsuits and vocal community opposition to the legislative redistricting process in Nassau County, a new poll conducted by the Long Island Civic Engagement Table (LICET) shows that over 80% of Nassau County voters support reforming the process to make it non-partisan.
The Nassau United Redistricting Coalition, of which LICET is a member, its allies, and grassroots community members are beginning a campaign to call for citizen-led redistricting to be a top priority of the next legislative session.
